Recently I picked up a pair of the Kith x Nike collab on the Air Force 1, which celebrates New York City and its hometown NBA team, the Knicks. These released back in December of 2020, and it adopts the Knicks’ team colours of orange and blue, atop a clean, white leather base. Check out my review for an in-depth look!
MTA, New York City’s transportation authority, teamed up with New Balance for one of the most unlikeliest of collaborations. This 920 model is constructed entirely in grey, reminiscent of a subway train, with hits of blue which are taken from the MTA logo itself. Nike recently released a collection paying homage to MLB great, Ken Griffey Jr. These Air Max 90s were part of the pack, which is dressed in the signature Seattle Mariners colours, along with hits of red and white as a nod to baseball. Collegium is set to drop two limited colourways of their highly successful Pillar Destroyer High this week. Inspired by the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” and “Royal”, similar colour schemes are chosen for the upcoming drop on June 26th, but they are constructed using the same, top grain Italian leather that the brand has become known for. Concepts and Asics recently teamed up to release a Gel-Lyte III inspired by Otoro, which is the premium, fattiest cut of a tuna belly.
