Before 2021 ends, I picked up another New Balance shoe. This time it’s the 1500 in the “Slate Blue / Grey” colourway. This made in England pair is incredibly crafted, with quality nubuck in a cool, simple combination of grey and blue tones. Boston-based boutique, Concepts, teamed up with New Balance last month to drop a Kiwi-inspired 992. Paying homage to the “Kiwi Queen”, Frieda Rappaport Caplan, this 992 features a hairy suede upper, with neon green hits throughout resembling the look of the tropical fruit. I recently hit up a New Balance sample sale and came away with these “Glow in the Dark” Made in UK 920s! Supposedly set to drop in a pack alongside other models like the 1500, these 920s are constructed out of silver leather and mesh, black nubuck overlays, and glow in the dark accents on the outsole and upper.
