Originally released in 2010, the Fragment Design collaboration with Nike on the Dunk High “Beijing” made its return last week. Part of a three-shoe “City Pack”, the Beijing pair is constructed out of black and purple coloured smooth leather for a clean and simple look. The next Nike Dunk set to release is the “Kentucky” or “Game Royal” Dunk High! One of the original colourways from the 80s, Nike is set to bring these back with its classic smooth leather upper in a clean and simple blue and white colour blocking. Considered a grail to many LeBron collectors, Nike brought back this 2011 classic recently, true to OG form. The “Miami Nights” colourway of the LeBron 8 Low features a gradient, tropical-like look with a full length Max Air cushioning set up. Last week Nike dropped another pair of Dunk Lows, this colourway inspired by the team colours of the Michigan State Spartans. Dropping on June 3rd is the “Michigan” Dunk Low by Nike. Although we saw the high top versions release already last year, this iconic colorway returns in low top form to much anticipation. The next Nike Kobe shoe set to release is the Kobe 6 Protro “Playoff Pack”. Originally releasing in April 2011, a decade later Nike Basketball is bringing them back in Protro form. Featuring a colour base of white, black and yellow, these were a must for me given its wearability and overall clean look. These release in North America on June 3rd, so let me know if you are going to be trying for them!
The Nike SB Dunk Low “What The Paul” pays tribute to pro skateboarder, Paul Rodriguez, and his long standing relationship with Nike SB. Done in the patchwork / mismatching “What The” style, each shoe features different elements of some of P Rod’s past collaborations with Nike, ranging from iconic colourways of the P Rod 1 to P Rod 10, to the Nike SB Dunk High. Sacai and Nike are back with another colourway of the Vaporwaffle. Mashing up the Air Pegasus from 1983, with the Nike Vaporfly from the modern era, this colourway is dressed in a beautiful “Sesame” hue with hits of blue to accent its look. Nike has been releasing a ton of Dunk colourways in 2021, including the White / Black pair that I’m reviewing today.
