One of the most anticipated shoes so far of 2021, the original “Neutral Grey” colourway of the Air Jordan 1 high finally returns tomorrow, February 10th. Last seen in 1985, these are crafted in the remastered “85” form, which Nike claims is a closer reproduction to the original Air Jordan 1 silhouette than its normal retro releases. This Made in England pair was a limited release and features premium materials with small touches throughout as a nod to the upcoming holiday. The quintessential Adidas 80s basketball shoe has returned! The Forum 84 High was retroed in “OG” form in late December, featuring the signature white and blue look. Worn famously by Michael Jordan during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic trails, these were the Three Stripes’ marquee basketball sneaker of that era. Releasing last week, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 returned in a bright, bold “Sun” colourway. Looking like a yellowed-out version of the original Wave Runner pair, these incorporate vibrant tones including yellow and orange for a very eye catching look. Gaining a lot of buzz because of its similarities to the Travis Scott Air Jordan 4 Friends & Family release, these incorporate a mix of premium suede, mesh and cracked leather in a versatile tan-hued shade. UK retailer, End Clothing, teamed up with New Balance to release the 1500 “Rainbow Eucalyptus”. This special tree, native to Southeast Asia, is known for its rainbow coloured bark, and this sneaker draws inspiration from this in its release. Swedish-based boutique, Sneakersnstuff, teamed up with Adidas in late 2020 to release their take on the Ultra4D model! Nicknamed “Green Teatime” for its greenish shade, these look similar to the earlier collab, the “Tee Time” Ultraboost, but incorporating Adidas 4D technology in the midsole instead of Boost. My newest Nike SB pickup is the “Court Purple” SB Dunk Low, which mimics the colour blocking of the “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1, but replaces the signature red, with purple.
