LA-based brand Gallery Dept continues their partnership with Asics, releasing a couple colourways of the mashup silhouette, the Gel-K1011. Dropping a few months ago, I caught a restock of my fave colourway – “White / Pure Silver”, which reminds me of the iconic Gundam robots. Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance offered another trio of 860 V2s for pre-order last July, and the most wearable pair of the bunch is what I’m reviewing for you all today. Multi-hyphenate creative director Juliana Salazar just dropped her collaboration with Asics. Her take on the Gel-Kayano 14 is full of elegance, with a tonal tan upper crafted out of open mesh and suede. As part of this collection, they dropped this China-exclusive colourway of the Kobe 5 Protro, which is dressed in festive colours of red and gold. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Jordan Brand launched a huge marketing campaign surrounding the release of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 “Bred” (Banned). This iconic sneaker was rebuilt to mimic the look of its original release from 1985. Jordan Brand continues their Reimagined series with the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic”. This original colourway from 1990 stays true to the original with some twists including grey piping on the edges of the panels, and more reflective detailing on the shoe. Originally a PE that was unveiled in 2022, Jordan Brand brought back an alternate colourway of the Rui Hachimura x Air Jordan 1 Low, this one being an Asia exclusive. Featuring beige suede and textile overlays, the layers depict cranes and Japanese cherry blossoms, as a nod to his heritage. Check out my review and see how these are on feet!
