UK retailer, Footpatrol, released this epic New Balance 1906R collab back in May inspired by X-Rays. This colourway features a mesh build in various blue tones, and translucent TPU overlays with white accents. A X-Ray image of a foot adorns the insole as well, tying it back to the theming perfectly. I recently picked up a pair of the New Balance 1906 Utility, also called the 1906N. This pair features a slightly different upper construction than your standard 1906R, with a mix of mesh, leather and synthetic layers. Comme Des Garçons Homme released two colourways of the New Balance 1906R late last year, one of which I’m reviewing today. The “White” colourway features white mesh with genuine leather overlays, contrasted against a solid black midsole and heel cup. These are done in inverted fashion with a dotted pattern incorporated onto the mesh base. Meanwhile, genuine leather covers the upper in a surprise, premium twist.
