I finally picked up a pair of the New Balance 991! My latest review covers the 991 in the Yellow and Blue colourway (M991YBG). This pair is made in the UK, incorporating suede, leather and mesh on the upper in a striking colour combination that surely catches eyes. Union and Jordan Brand returned for a second collab, this time on the Air Jordan 4! I picked up the Union-exclusive pair, which was done in the “Guava Ice” colourway which I’m covering in my latest review! Done in a vintage look, these incorporate a few changes to the traditional look of the Jordan 4 including a stitched down tongue that had the sneaker world in a frenzy, for both good and bad reasons. The Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low Pro dropped to end off August, and it’s one of the wildest executed Dunks I’ve seen in a while! Featuring a black leather upper that reveals a heat map graphic underneath when exposed to direct heat, these are inspired by Germany in the late 80s / early 90s following the fall of the Berlin Wall and the rise in their Techno scene. The first Kobe sneaker to release following his untimely passing, the Kobe 5 Protro “Big Stage / Parade” kicked off Mamba Week with a limited drop this past week. Done in a split fashion, one side is inspired by the Big Stage colourway from 2010, and the other taking tattoo-like graphics from the Parade PE colourway.
