As part of their Spring / Summer 2024 line, Wales Bonner teamed up with Adidas to release a collection of footwear and apparel, inspired by the legacy of East African runners. Today I’m reviewing a Samba from this collection, crafted out of nylon in the “Desert White” colourway. Accompanied with premium leather and suede, hints of blue add some pop to this otherwise understated model!
Adidas and A Bathing Ape just dropped their latest of many collaborations, this time working together on the 1990s skateboarding shoe model – the Adidas Norton (also called the Adidas Lawsuit or LWST). JJJJound released their elevated take on the Adidas Samba late last month – but it wasn’t without controversy. Advertised as a “Made in Germany” shoe, it came to light that the pairs were actually largely manufactured in Vietnam, with only the finishing touches actually done in the European country instead. Heroes in a half shell! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles celebrate their 40th anniversary with this collab with Adidas on the Superstar silhouette! Celebrating the original 1984 look with all-red bandanas, the shoe is crafted using premium green tumbled leather, TMNT dubraes and a ton of other easter eggs throughout. Bad Bunny and Adidas recently dropped a brand new colourway of the Response CL model, this time in a cream-based “Wonder White” makeup. This pair is crafted using genuine suedes along the upper, while still retaining that signature look of past models with Bad Bunny branding, and that “drip” effect along the midsole. Last year, Ronnie Fieg worked with Adidas Originals and Clarks to design and release the 8th Street Samba – a unique twist on this classic Adidas shoe. To close out the year, they released two new colourways on Christmas Day, one in White / Black, and the other a Multicoloured pair. Just in time for Christmas, Adidas Originals released this Grinch edition of the Forum Low. Opting for a mix of cream coloured leather and shaggy green suede, we also have Christmas red accents throughout, for a festive, but stil wearable result.
