New Balance is dipping into their archives, going back to 1999 to bring back the 1000 silhouette. One of the first general release colourways is this one that I’m reviewing today in “Silver Metallic / Black”. A mesh upper is complimented with bold, silver synthetic leather layers, designed with a dynamic and fluid appearance. JJJJound released their elevated take on the Adidas Samba late last month – but it wasn’t without controversy. Advertised as a “Made in Germany” shoe, it came to light that the pairs were actually largely manufactured in Vietnam, with only the finishing touches actually done in the European country instead. Slapping on volt hits on the midsole and tongue, these also have 3.26 branding on the tongue – ensuring they stand out on the streets. Late last month, Hoka released this limited edition version of their Tor Summit model in collaboration with Chicago-based fashion brand, Hidden Characters. This pair features a striking look with a black nubuck upper, trail lacing, and is contrasted against a white rubberized mudguard and midsole.
