Earlier this month, Kith opened its doors to its newest flagship location, this time in Chicago. To celebrate, they released a World’s Fair collection with Asics, which included four colourways of the Gel-Lyte III model. Today I’m reviewing all of the colourways which represent nations that have hosted a world’s fair in years past. Late last month, Hoka released this limited edition version of their Tor Summit model in collaboration with Chicago-based fashion brand, Hidden Characters. This pair features a striking look with a black nubuck upper, trail lacing, and is contrasted against a white rubberized mudguard and midsole. Joe Freshgoods’ latest project with New Balance saw the release of 500 pairs of the 650R model, imaging what it would have been like if Michael Jordan signed with New Balance instead of Nike back in 1984. This premium take on the 650R features a mix of tumbled leather and suede, in a vintage looking cream, grey and white mix. Check out my review and let me know if you think this is just hype, or heat.
The original “Chicago” colourway of the Air Jordan 2 is back, just in time to close out 2022. Releasing in stores on December 30th, this pair is as close to the originals as we’ve seen, with a sleeker toe box, soft smooth white leather, and the signature iguana-embossed midpanel. Chicago-based boutique’s first ever collaboration with Nike dropped at the end of January. Releasing two Dunk Hi colourways, these were inspired by traditional workwear, and the rugged, hardworking attitudes of Midwesterners. My latest review covers both pairs, the Notre-exclusive “Light Orewood Brown”, and the “Midnight Navy” colourway which had a follow up drop on the Nike SNKRS app. Which of the two do you guys prefer?
One of the best SB Dunks to release this year, my latest review covers the “J-Pack Chicago” colourway which draws its inspiration from the iconic “Chicago” Air Jordan 1.
