Lego and Adidas came back with another collaboration – this time on the Ultraboost DNA model! Taking a more muted colour base compared to its previous ZX 8000 collab, this shoe incorporate customizable midfoot cages through the utilization of actual Lego blocks! Although these were available for preorder last summer, they finally began shipping out their collab on the 1300 model just recently. Baltimore-based skate brand, Carpet Company, launched their first collab with Nike SB, with the Dunk High model being the marquee item in their debut collection. These Dunks incorporate a removable outer blue layer that reveals a secondary design underneath. Unique touches make it true to the Carpet Company spirit throughout the shoe. Though these dropped in January, I just picked up a pair of the Sneakersnstuff collaboration with New Balance on the 920 model! These incorporate a bold orange coloured upper with pine green suede accents, for a vintage feel that definitely has a striking look to it. Japanese brand Readymade teamed up with Nike to release two colours of the Nike Blazer Mid! Inspired by the idea of sustainability and turning waste into something new, these are a very unique reinvention of the classic Blazer, with multiple laces, deconstructed panels, and exposed foam. Menswear label Todd Snyder’s latest collab with New Balance is the 992 “From Away”. Taking the ever popular model, it incorporates its own unique twist with a duck camo printed canvas base layer, with tan suede and leather accents on top.
