This time, they draw inspiration from the legendary $1000 bill from 1890, and what better model to execute it on than the NB 1000! LA-based brand Gallery Dept continues their partnership with Asics, releasing a couple colourways of the mashup silhouette, the Gel-K1011. Dropping a few months ago, I caught a restock of my fave colourway – “White / Pure Silver”, which reminds me of the iconic Gundam robots. Multi-hyphenate creative director Juliana Salazar just dropped her collaboration with Asics. Her take on the Gel-Kayano 14 is full of elegance, with a tonal tan upper crafted out of open mesh and suede. Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance offered another trio of 860 V2s for pre-order last July, and the boldest of the bunch is what I’m reviewing for you all today. Going back to where their run started, this 992 “Aged Well” seemingly is a washed out version of their original collab from 2020.
