Pro biker, Nigel Sylvester, is back with his newest collab with Jordan Brand and it’s probably his best one yet. Taking the Air Jordan 4, its covered in orange-red tones of suede and textured leather, inspired by the brick buildings of his home, NYC. This time, they draw inspiration from the legendary $1000 bill from 1890, and what better model to execute it on than the NB 1000! LA-based brand Gallery Dept continues their partnership with Asics, releasing a couple colourways of the mashup silhouette, the Gel-K1011. Dropping a few months ago, I caught a restock of my fave colourway – “White / Pure Silver”, which reminds me of the iconic Gundam robots. Multi-hyphenate creative director Juliana Salazar just dropped her collaboration with Asics. Her take on the Gel-Kayano 14 is full of elegance, with a tonal tan upper crafted out of open mesh and suede. Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance offered another trio of 860 V2s for pre-order last July, and the boldest of the bunch is what I’m reviewing for you all today. New Balance and Joe Freshgoods honour their incredible 5-year run of collaborations with the reintroduction of the New Balance 992. Going back to where their run started, this 992 “Aged Well” seemingly is a washed out version of their original collab from 2020. Dressed in earth tones of beige and light brown, this continues JJJJound’s trend of wearable, understated projects. One of 2024’s biggest New Balance collabs finally landed in Canada and today I’m reviewing one of the two colourways of the 990 V4 that Auralee collaborated on! The “London Fog” colourway is a beige-based suede constructed sneaker with, mesh and reflective layers, along with hits of pale blue along the heel.
