LA-based brand Gallery Dept continues their partnership with Asics, releasing a couple colourways of the mashup silhouette, the Gel-K1011. Dropping a few months ago, I caught a restock of my fave colourway – “White / Pure Silver”, which reminds me of the iconic Gundam robots. Multi-hyphenate creative director Juliana Salazar just dropped her collaboration with Asics. Her take on the Gel-Kayano 14 is full of elegance, with a tonal tan upper crafted out of open mesh and suede. Hints of silver compliment the upper along with bold pops of blue along the Gel unit in the heel complete the look. Check out my review for an in-depth look and leave your opinions below!
Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance offered another trio of 860 V2s for pre-order last July, and the boldest of the bunch is what I’m reviewing for you all today. New Balance and Joe Freshgoods honour their incredible 5-year run of collaborations with the reintroduction of the New Balance 992. Going back to where their run started, this 992 “Aged Well” seemingly is a washed out version of their original collab from 2020. Earlier this month, Concepts released the second colourway from their champagne-inspired New Balance 740 pack – this one called “Brut”. This lifestyle model features a lightweight mesh upper, reflective panels, a gradient colour scheme, and a chunky Abzorb midsole. As a follow up to their earlier collab last year, Bodega and Asics teamed up again to release a limited run of their Friends & Family colourway of the Gel-Kayano 20 – called “Success In Small Batches”. This understated colourway features brown mesh, grey synthetic overlays, and neon hits throughout.
