Featuring a nubuck-like upper in various tones of orange, a checkerboard tablecloth inspired liner remains as usual, and a black midsole for contrast. Concepts completed their three-shoe “Message to the Universe” Nike Air Max 1 pack by dropping the final “Far Our” colourway on Air Max Day, 3.26. Definitely the most colourful and vibrant of the three, it features textiles and patterns worn by music festival goers in the 1960s, and came with a special box and extras! Boston-based boutique, Concepts, teamed up with New Balance last month to drop a Kiwi-inspired 992. Paying homage to the “Kiwi Queen”, Frieda Rappaport Caplan, this 992 features a hairy suede upper, with neon green hits throughout resembling the look of the tropical fruit. Concepts and Asics recently teamed up to release a Gel-Lyte III inspired by Otoro, which is the premium, fattiest cut of a tuna belly. Draped in pink suede in various shades, these shoes channel that same luxury and prestige that Otoro is treated with in the sushi world. My New Balance grail has been obtained! Thanks to StockX, earlier this month I picked up a pair of the Concepts x New Balance 999 “Hyannis” in the Blue colourway. This Made in US pair is a “remastered” take on the “Kennedy” 999, which was the first ever collab between New Balance and Concepts from back in 2011.
