Up There’s reputation of strong collaborations continues, this time dropping a New Balance 991 V2. This pair takes a subtle approach, with black mesh, premium black leather, reflective 3M panels, and tiny pops of green. Danielle Cathari’s run as Creative Director for Kith Women was wrapped up with the release of the “Reverse” New Balance 991 V2. This flips the colours of her previous 991 V2 collab from 2024, featuring a green mesh, with lush brown suede and reflective panels atop. To celebrate their newest flagship store in Osaka, Japan, Kith released this New Balance 991V2 in a familiar colour scheme. Adapting the beloved “Steel Blue” colourway onto the Made in England model, it features premium suede with mesh and synthetic leather overlays. The New Balance Made in USA collection has begun to roll out their Spring / Summer 2025 line, and one of my faves is the “Avocado” 990 V6. Joe Freshgood’s latest New Balance project, “Prom to Paris”, features two monochromatic 990 V6s. Today, I’m reviewing one of the two, the “Prom Blue” colourway which covers the entire sneaker with a beautiful light blue shade in a mix of materials like genuine suede and mesh. Headlining this collection which was designed in part by artist Franck Pellegrino, was this 990 V6. This Made in USA model features a unique blend of colours, and the typical quality materials that New Balance is known for. This one is labelled as “Vintage Sport” in an “Off White” colourway, but notably it incorporates hits of red and blue, along with a beautiful gum rubber outsole. New Balance recently launched the Brights Revival pack of the 991 V2 silhouette – dropping two vibrant, bold colourways of their newest Made in England model. The pair I’m reviewing today is the “Yellow”, aka “Orange” colourway, which is crafted in a faded orange tone in a mix of pig suede, mesh and synthetic layers.
