Kith recently restocked this special colourway of the Asics Gel-1130, “Cream / Starlight Blue”. This summer-ready shoe features a lightweight mesh upper, with synthetic overlays in silver and light blue. Though the Kith branding is at a minimum, it still stands out for its wearability. To celebrate ten years of their Gel-Quantum line, Asics partnered with JJJJound to debut this celebratory silhouette, the Gel-Quantum 360 1 AMP. Dressed in white and cream, this low-key design features a mesh upper, with synthetic leather layers and fuse overlays, free of any loud branding. LA-based brand Gallery Dept continues their partnership with Asics, releasing a couple colourways of the mashup silhouette, the Gel-K1011. Dropping a few months ago, I caught a restock of my fave colourway – “White / Pure Silver”, which reminds me of the iconic Gundam robots. As a follow up to their earlier collab last year, Bodega and Asics teamed up again to release a limited run of their Friends & Family colourway of the Gel-Kayano 20 – called “Success In Small Batches”. This understated colourway features brown mesh, grey synthetic overlays, and neon hits throughout. As part of Kith’s Winter ’24 line, they dropped a couple of Asics collaborations, including the Gel-Kayano 12.1 that I’m reviewing today. This pair features cream mesh, with translucent TPU layers in a pale mint tone. The upper of this shoe is also paired with the tooling of the Gel-Nimbus 17, resulting in a mashup that is refreshingly new but still works.
