To mark the 35th anniversary of the Asics Gel-Lyte III, along with the retirement of the shoe’s designer, Shigeyuki Mitsui, the brand released this special edition pair earlier this summer. Dressed in hairy suede in bold tones of orange and bright blue, these feature coral graphics throughout (as the pronunciation of the Japanese word for coral sharing similarities to the numbers 3 & 5). This year marks fifteen years since Kith first opened their doors, and to celebrate, their bringing back the one that started it all – the Asics Gel-Lyte III “Salmon Toe”. Shenzhen-based label, Costs, recently teamed up with Asics to release their special take on the Gel-Lyte III model. Inspired by lychee vines, these have a very natural look to it, crafted using a mix of brown and pale green suedes, along with hemp panels and unique embroidery.
