Concepts has teamed up with New Balance again to release another currency themed project. This time, they draw inspiration from the legendary $1000 bill from 1890, and what better model to execute it on than the NB 1000! Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance offered another trio of 860 V2s for pre-order last July, and the most wearable pair of the bunch is what I’m reviewing for you all today. This “White / Green” pair has classic colour blocking, with a primarily white upper accented with silver and green. Check out my video and comment below if you guys also picked up a pair of these!
Earlier this month, Concepts released the second colourway from their champagne-inspired New Balance 740 pack – this one called “Brut”. This lifestyle model features a lightweight mesh upper, reflective panels, a gradient colour scheme, and a chunky Abzorb midsole. As part of Kith’s Winter ’24 line, they dropped a couple of Asics collaborations, including the Gel-Kayano 12.1 that I’m reviewing today. This pair features cream mesh, with translucent TPU layers in a pale mint tone. The upper of this shoe is also paired with the tooling of the Gel-Nimbus 17, resulting in a mashup that is refreshingly new but still works. Salehe Bembury just dropped his newest collaboration with New Balance, called “Prosperity Be The Prize”. This time working on a 530 model, it is inspired by Kyoto’s famous Bamboo Forests, translated with neon yellow and green coloured mesh, suede and synthetic layers. Saucony joined up with Parisian boutique, Starcow, to drop this masterpiece of a colourway of the Progrid Omni 9. Releasing late last week, this colourway features various shades of green along the upper in a combination of mesh, genuine suede, and more. Hints of orange provide some pop along with subtle golden accents as well. Check out my review and see how these are on feet!
Australian boutique, Up There, is set to release their latest New Balance collab, this time releasing a colourful take on the 860 V2 sneaker. Dropping at the end of October, these feature a blue mesh base, green synthetic nubuck overlays, brown detailing, and pink laces. A random mix of colours but somehow they just work! Originally released as a performance running shoe, New Balance recently reintroduced the 740 model, completely retooled as a lifestyle sneaker. The debut general release colourway I’m reviewing is the “White / Marsh Green” colour which features a mesh upper, synthetic green overlays, and a chunky Abzorb foam midsole for cushioning. Japanese artist Verdy just dropped his third collaboration with Nike SB, this one inspired by his plush character, Visty.
