Aimé Leon Dore’s take on the New Balance 650R model finally arrived after preordering these last summer. Nearly identical to its lowcut 550 cousin, these feature the same premium smooth leather, cracked leather New Balance “N” logos, vintage coloured midsoles, and Ortholite insoles. I recently scooped up a pair of the New Balance 992 for a steep discount so I had to review them for you guys. The M992DA colourway is a Made in US model that features clean, white suede, with loud hits of green and hot pink which make the shoe pop. Stray Rats and New Balance recently linked up to release a two-pack collab on the Made in England 991 model. The second of the two I’m reviewing is the “Brown / Purple” colourway, which features brown and purple coloured nubuck, suede and mesh, with green reflective overlays accented throughout the shoe. New Balance recently released a trio of 550 colourways, headlined by my personal favourite, the Green colourway! Looking similar to the Aime Leon Dore collaboration from 2020, these adopt a similar colour scheme of smooth white leather, with suede overlays and green coloured hits throughout. Sacai and Nike recently returned with their latest collaboration by dropping two colourways of the Blazer Low last week. My latest review covers the “Classic Green” colourway, which features a grey leather upper, with green and white accents stylized in typical Sacai “mashup” fashion. South Central LA-based label, Bricks & Wood, joined forces with New Balance to release their first collab on the 57/40 model. This bold and unique collaboration dresses the shoe in deep green shaded suede, nubuck and leather, along with reflective accents throughout, and a chunky EVA foam midsole.
