Earlier this month, Kith opened its doors to its newest flagship location, this time in Chicago. To celebrate, they released a World’s Fair collection with Asics, which included four colourways of the Gel-Lyte III model. Today I’m reviewing all of the colourways which represent nations that have hosted a world’s fair in years past. Considered a grail for many when it comes to Air Jordan 1 non-original colourways, the “Shattered Backboard” colourway is back ten years after they originally released in 2015. This pair pays homage to Michael Jordan shattering a backboard during a Nike exhibition basketball game in Trieste, Italy. Nike Basketball brought back this classic from 2011 – the Nike Kobe 6 “Italian Camo”. Built close to the original but tweaked in “protro” form, these feature a camo printed mesh upper, crimson accents, a full length Cushlon midsole, and Zoom Turbo under the forefoot. California-based brand, Collegium, linked up with Richie Le to release a collection of two pairs of their signature Pillar Destroyer model. These were pre-ordered in May, manufactured in Italy, and landed in my hands this week.
