Taking us back to 1986, Nike is set to launch this Air Max 1 that pays homage to the originals which featured a larger Air bubble, chunkier midsole, and a different looking upper. Back in the 80s, the original pairs were recalled and redesigned / relaunched with the smaller Air unit that we know today, but this retro is a nod to one of the best little known stories surrounding the iconic Air Max lineage ever told.

Concepts completed their three-shoe “Message to the Universe” Nike Air Max 1 pack by dropping the final “Far Our” colourway on Air Max Day, 3.26. Definitely the most colourful and vibrant of the three, it features textiles and patterns worn by music festival goers in the 1960s, and came with a special box and extras! The sequel to the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 recently arrived, with the “Noise Aqua” colourway! Switching things up, the Amsterdam-based boutique swaps the classic Air Max 1 midsole with a wavy one, creating a small but distinct change that surely will catch people’s attention. One of my favourite pickups of the year so far, the Air Max 1 returned last week paying homage to the city of London, as part of a two-shoe City Pack! With a multi-toned grey and blue upper, these incorporate premium materials and small touches paying tribute to London’s icons. My latest pickup is the Nike Air Max 1 Crepe, which dropped in late 2018! Taking the traditional Air Max 1 model, these incorporate a crepe outsole instead of the traditional rubber, and include a variety of materials in the upper including nubuck, corduroy and suede! UK retailer, Size? teamed up with Nike to release a “Dusk Till Dawn” pack, featuring the classic Nike Air Max 180 alongside the subject of today’s review – the Air Max 1. Coloured in bright blue tones reminiscent of a sunrise, these are a great addition to my Air Max collection. Shout out to Size? for sending these over!
