2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the iconic New Balance 1500. Originally released in 1989, it continues to be one of the brand’s most popular models, so its fitting that they released this special edition colourway for the moment! Late last month, Hoka released this limited edition version of their Tor Summit model in collaboration with Chicago-based fashion brand, Hidden Characters. This pair features a striking look with a black nubuck upper, trail lacing, and is contrasted against a white rubberized mudguard and midsole. As New Balance is ready to shelve the 991 V1 model, they ended things with one final pack, aptly called the “Finale Pack”. Consisting of two colourways, these Made in England pairs include the pair I’m reviewing today – the “Delicioso” colourway, which features a perforated nubuck upper, brown suede overlays and an Abzorb midsole. This pair is crafted using genuine suedes along the upper, while still retaining that signature look of past models with Bad Bunny branding, and that “drip” effect along the midsole. Releasing just before the end of 2023, Nike released these women’s Dunk Lows, unofficially inspired by the iconic Air Max 90 “Bacon”. Crafted with elevated materials like tumbled leather and genuine nubucks, these mirror the colours of the famous Air Max 90 in a mix of sail, sport red, pink and brown. A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand close off 2023 with one final collab, this time a two-shoe Air Jordan 5 pack nicknamed “Dawn” and “Dusk”. Today I’ll be reviewing the “Dawn” pair, which is crafted using a light grey suede upper, with vintage detailing, and black and blue accents.
