New York based streetwear label, Awake, dropped their newest Jordan Brand collab, this time releasing two colourways of the Air Jordan 5. I got my hands on the more accessible “Racer Blue” pair, which features a premium black leather upper and lots of special touches that make this a truly unique collaboration. Taking the Air Jordan 4, its covered in orange-red tones of suede and textured leather, inspired by the brick buildings of his home, NYC. Nike’s annual “NY vs. NY” collection is back to celebrate the city’s basketball tournament. This year, one of the drops which I’m reviewing today is this Air Force 1 Low, which is crafted out of white leather, with a gradient style Swoosh, and icy blue outsole. Inspired by New York City and the Statue of Liberty, this 2007 running shoe is given a lifestyle twist, with green, silver, and beige tones crafted in a mix of nubuck and synthetic materials. Earlier this week, Kith released their special collaboration with Madison Square Garden, dropping two colourways of the New Balance 990 V6. Inspired by the teams that call MSG home, the pair I’m reviewing today draw inspiration from the team colours of the NBA’s New York Knicks. This Made in USA pair features cream and grey base layers, along with the signature orange and blue that have made the Knicks one of the most recognizable sport franchises in the world. The Size? x New Balance “Diamond District Pack” of 1906Rs released today, and I’ll be reviewing the “Green” colourway. This pair draws inspiration from vintage luxury watches, swapping out the traditional materials for more premium materials. Supreme recently released another collaboration with Nike Skateboarding, featuring both a Dunk Low and High, inspired by the work of the late NY-based artist, Rammellzee. Featuring his artwork printed on canvas layers, the shoe is accented with bold, black suede throughout and a gum rubber outsole.
