This 992 is the Burgundy / White colourway (M992CA) which is Made in USA and features a buttery burgundy coloured suede upper, a chenille New Balance “N” logo, and nubuck accents. Montreal-based studio, JJJJound, recently teamed up with New Balance once again to release their take on the 990 V4 silhouette. The “Parisian Night” colourway is done in dark tonal fashion, with black and dark blue suede, mesh and nubuck. Independent sneaker brand, Collegium, is back with a brand new silhouette, the Pillar Destroyer II “Devastator.” The sequel to their highly successful Pillar Destroyer which originally debuted a few years back, this takes a similar approach with its Made in Italy build and materials and combination of calf leather and suede. New Balance continued with their 990 Version series with the 990 V3, which originally released back in 2012. This Made in USA pair is done in the classic grey colour scheme, but ruby red hits pay homage to the 990 V1’s upcoming 40th anniversary. California-based brand, Collegium, linked up with Richie Le to release a collection of two pairs of their signature Pillar Destroyer model. These were pre-ordered in May, manufactured in Italy, and landed in my hands this week.
