One of the original colourways of the Air Jordan 1 from 1985 returns next month in low cut form. The “Black Toe” colourway is crafted using a mix of premium white and black leather, as well as a more muted red leather on the heel. Taking us back to 1986, Nike is set to launch this Air Max 1 that pays homage to the originals which featured a larger Air bubble, chunkier midsole, and a different looking upper. Back in the 80s, the original pairs were recalled and redesigned / relaunched with the smaller Air unit that we know today, but this retro is a nod to one of the best little known stories surrounding the iconic Air Max lineage ever told.

Although they dropped earlier this year, here in Canada we finally got our shipments of the “Infrared” Air Jordan 4 recently. Supreme dropped their latest collaboration with Nike in late June, releasing four colourways of the mid-2000s running shoe, the Shox Ride 2. A bit of an unexpected silhouette choice, these feature a mix of mesh, nubuck, and leather in a clean white-based palette, with bold red splashes true to Supreme’s classic look.

The “Heritage” Air Jordan 1 is the latest colourway to release and I’m here to break it down for you all! Releasing last month on Nike’s Canadian website, these are slated to drop in the US at the end of May. Done in the same colour blocking style as the Travis Scott x Fragment Jordan 1 High, these replace the blue for a more “heritage” inspired “University Red” tone instead. Adidas Canada sent me a pair of the recently released Forum Low “Home Alone”. Inspired by the shoe worn by character Kevin McAllister in the movie, these Forums are constructed out of an off-white and red leather combo, with a bunch of references on the shoe which pay homage to Kevin’s booby traps in the movie.
