Kith celebrates their 15th anniversary by joining up with New Balance to drop a brand new model – the 2011. This pair was part of a launch collection of four colourways, designed by Ronnie Fieg and NB’s Sam Pearce. It’s built using a mix of premium suedes and nubucks, and is covered in various green shades – a perfect tie in to the launch campaign centered around Kith’s growth over the last fifteen years. Coinciding with the re-opening of Kith’s West Hollywood flagship store, the brand linked up with New Balance to release four Made in USA pairs, including the one I’m reviewing today. The 990 V4 in “Dusty Mauve” is built using a mesh base, pigskin suede overlays, and reflective details – all in a mature and wearable colour palette. Danielle Cathari’s run as Creative Director for Kith Women was wrapped up with the release of the “Reverse” New Balance 991 V2. This flips the colours of her previous 991 V2 collab from 2024, featuring a green mesh, with lush brown suede and reflective panels atop. Kith continued their partnership with Madison Square Garden with the release of two colourways of the New Balance 993. Adorning the familiar colours of the New York Knicks, today I’m reviewing the “Navy” pair, which opts for darker tones contrasted against orange and white hits. Earlier this month, Kith opened its doors to its newest flagship location, this time in Chicago. To celebrate, they released a World’s Fair collection with Asics, which included four colourways of the Gel-Lyte III model. Today I’m reviewing all of the colourways which represent nations that have hosted a world’s fair in years past. Kith recently restocked this special colourway of the Asics Gel-1130, “Cream / Starlight Blue”. This summer-ready shoe features a lightweight mesh upper, with synthetic overlays in silver and light blue. Though the Kith branding is at a minimum, it still stands out for its wearability. Who else picked these up, or were these a pass for you?
I picked up my first ever pair of the Asics Gel-Nunobiki, with this pair being part of the 6-pair collection released in collaboration with Kith. This “Delicioso / Pure Silver” colourway features a matcha-like green synthetic upper along with brown mesh and silver accents. Kith and Asics dropped a 6 pair summer collection, which included my favourite of the pack – the Gel-Kayano 12.1 in “Peet / Cream”. Ronnie Fieg is tapping into this brand new New Balance silhouette, the Abzorb 2010, releasing two colourways this coming Monday, May 19th. The one I’m reviewing is the beautiful “Purple” colourway, which features a mix of purple mesh, pig suede and synthetic nubuck layers.
