Postponed due to the passing of BXR founder Chris “Spanto” Printup, these finally were sold to the public in late September. Crenshaw Skate Club’s first collab with Nike SB recently dropped, releasing this beautiful homage to Crenshaw on the Dunk Low silhouette. Inspired by the neighbourhood, this pair mixes and matches materials including cracked leather, suede, and leather overlays mimic the look of oxidized metal signs. After releasing a Homer inspired Dunk and a Marge inspired Dunk in the 2000s, Nike SB finally released a Dunk Low with its colours unofficially drawing inspiration from Bart! This loud and playful colourway opts for a leather and suede construction, with vibrant tones seemingly leaping straight from the TV. Dutch artist, Parra, is back with another Nike SB collaboration. His take on the Dunk Low sees abstract shapes in a myriad of colours covering the panels of the shoe, while a base of white nubuck, and a solid black leather swoosh give the shoe the right amount of balance. Dropping in late July, these are one of my favourite releases of the year so far!
