To celebrate the 2024 Paris Olympics, New Balance dropped a collection available only at their La Marais store in Paris. Headlining this collection which was designed in part by artist Franck Pellegrino, was this 990 V6. This Made in USA model features a unique blend of colours, and the typical quality materials that New Balance is known for. Australian-based boutique, Above the Clouds, is back with another Asics GT-2160 collaboration. This time, it utilizes brown, cream and red hits, while still retaining the essence of the 2023 “Green” colourway. As usual, a translucent mesh covers the toebox – so your socks matter! Also nicknamed the “Olympic Safari” pack, these feature the iconic Nike safari print on the upper, with black leather and suede hits along with bright blue laces to add some pop. The Whitaker Group continued their ongoing partnership with New Balance, releasing two pairs of the 1906U under the collection called “Willful Bias”. Today I’m reviewing one of those two pairs – the “Electric Teal / Steel” colourway which features a futuristic colour palette with metallic silver, blue, and teal tones. UK retailer, Footpatrol, released this epic New Balance 1906R collab back in May inspired by X-Rays. This colourway features a mesh build in various blue tones, and translucent TPU overlays with white accents. A X-Ray image of a foot adorns the insole as well, tying it back to the theming perfectly. End and Saucony recently teamed up to release this beautiful homage to the legendary Loch Ness Monster in Scotland. Designing this Progrid Triumph 4 to incorporate dark blue mesh, hairy suede layers and textured nubuck akin to Nessie’s scales – these are a beautiful example of a creative but well thought out collab.
