Recently I picked up a pair of the Kith x Nike collab on the Air Force 1, which celebrates New York City and its hometown NBA team, the Knicks. These released back in December of 2020, and it adopts the Knicks’ team colours of orange and blue, atop a clean, white leather base. Check out my review for an in-depth look!
MTA, New York City’s transportation authority, teamed up with New Balance for one of the most unlikeliest of collaborations. This 920 model is constructed entirely in grey, reminiscent of a subway train, with hits of blue which are taken from the MTA logo itself. Collegium is set to drop two limited colourways of their highly successful Pillar Destroyer High this week. Inspired by the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” and “Royal”, similar colour schemes are chosen for the upcoming drop on June 26th, but they are constructed using the same, top grain Italian leather that the brand has become known for. To celebrate Bodega’s 15th year anniversary, they collaborated with New Balance to release a Made in USA 990 V3! This pair is crafted using premium suedes in various earthy, olive and khaki tones. Puma Canada sent me a pair of the RS-Connect Lazer, which is a new silhouette that opts for a sleek but chunky look at the same time! A mesh upper with accents of suede create a lightweight and breathable feel, while the RS cushioning in the midsole results in exceptional comfort on feet! Sacai and Nike recently returned with their latest collaboration by dropping two colourways of the Blazer Low last week. My New Balance grail has been obtained! Thanks to StockX, earlier this month I picked up a pair of the Concepts x New Balance 999 “Hyannis” in the Blue colourway. This Made in US pair is a “remastered” take on the “Kennedy” 999, which was the first ever collab between New Balance and Concepts from back in 2011.
