Teddy Santis’ Season 6 collection of New Balance Made in USA is almost here. Today I’m giving you an early review of one of the debut pairs, the 990 V6 in “Castlerock / Moonrock”. New Balance’s newest variation on their 1906 model is here – the 1906A. This version takes the tradition components of the upper and warps them, like overhanging N-Lock straps, and panels that are seemingly coming off the shoe’s upper. Concepts just released this special edition take on the New Balance 1906 called “Hours and Days”, which pays homage to its 2012 “SEAL” collab on the 999 model. Featuring a mesh base with a variety of overlays in different materials, textures and colours, these still channel the soul of the SEAL 999 even though it’s on a brand new silhouette over a decade later. To celebrate the 2024 Paris Olympics, New Balance dropped a collection available only at their La Marais store in Paris. Headlining this collection which was designed in part by artist Franck Pellegrino, was this 990 V6. This Made in USA model features a unique blend of colours, and the typical quality materials that New Balance is known for. Australian-based boutique, Above the Clouds, is back with another Asics GT-2160 collaboration. This time, it utilizes brown, cream and red hits, while still retaining the essence of the 2023 “Green” colourway. As usual, a translucent mesh covers the toebox – so your socks matter! To celebrate the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Nike SB released the “Electric Pack” which is headlined by the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro. Also nicknamed the “Olympic Safari” pack, these feature the iconic Nike safari print on the upper, with black leather and suede hits along with bright blue laces to add some pop. The Whitaker Group continued their ongoing partnership with New Balance, releasing two pairs of the 1906U under the collection called “Willful Bias”. Today I’m reviewing one of those two pairs – the “Electric Teal / Steel” colourway which features a futuristic colour palette with metallic silver, blue, and teal tones. UK retailer, Footpatrol, released this epic New Balance 1906R collab back in May inspired by X-Rays. This colourway features a mesh build in various blue tones, and translucent TPU overlays with white accents. A X-Ray image of a foot adorns the insole as well, tying it back to the theming perfectly. I’m back today reviewing not one, but two general release colourways of Asics’ Gel-Quantum 360 VIII model. The latest under the Gel-Quantum banner, this model was introduced earlier this year, and these are two of the colourways which I picked up recently.
