New Balance is dipping into their archives, going back to 1999 to bring back the 1000 silhouette. One of the first general release colourways is this one that I’m reviewing today in “Silver Metallic / Black”. A mesh upper is complimented with bold, silver synthetic leather layers, designed with a dynamic and fluid appearance. New Balance is set to release a handful of incredible colourway of their 993 model. First up, releasing on April 25th is this “Chive” colourway which I managed to pickup early – featuring a bright green upper comprised of genuine suede, mesh, reflective panels and more. Originally released in 1989, it continues to be one of the brand’s most popular models, so its fitting that they released this special edition colourway for the moment! Following the release of the OG “White / Blue” colourway, Nike released this special edition colourway on Air Max Day, 3.26, inspired by a similar release from a decade ago. Slapping on volt hits on the midsole and tongue, these also have 3.26 branding on the tongue – ensuring they stand out on the streets. This pair is a project with Australian sneaker boutique, Up There, who dropped this silver-based colourway with cream and green coloured accents this past November. New Balance and JJJJound released their second interpretation of the 2002R silhouette, this time made for the winter weather with Gore-Tex! Two colourways released earlier this month, one in “Charcoal”, and the one I’ll be reviewing – the “Pine” colourway. This waterproof version of New Balance’s ever-popular silhouette features black mesh and plush dark green suede that looks good and also is functional!
