Last year, Ronnie Fieg worked with Adidas Originals and Clarks to design and release the 8th Street Samba – a unique twist on this classic Adidas shoe. To close out the year, they released two new colourways on Christmas Day, one in White / Black, and the other a Multicoloured pair. Following the protro release of the original “Grinch” Nike Kobe 6 in 2021, Nike Basketball followed it up with a “Reverse Grinch” colourway that released last week. Swapping the original colours, the signature green upper is now red, while red accents and laces are now a vibrant electric green shade. A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand close off 2023 with one final collab, this time a two-shoe Air Jordan 5 pack nicknamed “Dawn” and “Dusk”. Today I’ll be reviewing the “Dusk” pair, which is crafted using a black nubuck upper, with vintage detailing, and burgundy coloured accents. Continuing on with releasing 2.0 versions of iconic Air Max 1s, Nike recently brought back the “Keep Rippin, Stop Slippin” Air Max 1, originally from 2008. Looking totally different from the OGs, this 2.0 version features hairy black suede, smooth leather, and deep red coloured hits on the lining and embroidery. Based off of the 2006 DMP 11s, Jordan Brand is releasing the Air Jordan 11 “Gratitude” later this week on December 9th. Replacing the nylon upper for a tumbled white leather instead, it otherwise remains fairly true to the original with glossy, black patent leather, gold coloured detailing, and a translucent outsole that made the Air Jordan 11 famous. Nike just dropped this two shoe “Tweed / Corduroy” pack, consisting of a Nike Dunk, and the shoe I’m reviewing today – an Air Force 1 Low. Crafted using a mix of premium fabrics such as tweed, corduroy, wool and more, this is the perfect sneaker to wear in the chillier months with a more grown up look and feel. Last week, Kith released their special collaboration with Madison Square Garden, dropping two colourways of the New Balance 990 V6. Inspired by the teams that call MSG home, the pair I’m reviewing today draw inspiration from the team colours of the NHL’s New York Rangers. This Made in USA pair features a predominantly navy blue upper, with the Rangers’ signature red and blue hits seen throughout, along with an icy outsole as a nod to the sport.
