Last week, Kith released their special collaboration with Madison Square Garden, dropping two colourways of the New Balance 990 V6. Inspired by the teams that call MSG home, the pair I’m reviewing today draw inspiration from the team colours of the NHL’s New York Rangers. This Made in USA pair features a predominantly navy blue upper, with the Rangers’ signature red and blue hits seen throughout, along with an icy outsole as a nod to the sport. Playstation Canada hooked me up with a pair of the recently released Adidas 4D in collaboration with Marvel, to celebrate the launch of the new Spider-Man 2 video game by Insomniac Studios and Sony. Featuring a red Primeknit upper, blue overlays and white stripes (as a nod to Spider-Man’s advanced suit), the 4D midsole represents the Venom symbiote taking over Peter’s costume. Featuring an iridescent and shimmery upper, these have a unique mix of materials that are utilized so well on this early 2010s running silhouette. Opting for tones of green, silver and a translucent mesh toe box, these are one of the more creative takes on this 2010-era running shoe that seen a surge in popularity in the past year. I finally picked up a pair of the Asics Gel-NYC! This new lifestyle silhouette which debuted earlier this year, has released in a variety of colours and today I’ll be reviewing the “Concrete / Oatmeal” pair. J Balvin is back with his third collaboration with Jordan Brand – this time releasing a beautiful pair of Air Jordan 3s inspired by the Medellin sunset, the city he calls home. Featuring a cream coloured tumbled leather, aged edges, and a gradient feature on the heel tab and midsole, these were an instant sell out when they dropped a few weeks back. One of the greatest New Balance collaborations of all time is back. The Concepts 998 “C-Note” originally released in 2013 and quickly gained cult status. Fast forward a decade later, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the shoe has returned nearly identical to its original form.
