Chicago-based boutique’s first ever collaboration with Nike dropped at the end of January. Releasing two Dunk Hi colourways, these were inspired by traditional workwear, and the rugged, hardworking attitudes of Midwesterners. Menswear label Todd Snyder’s latest collab with New Balance is the 992 “From Away”. Taking the ever popular model, it incorporates its own unique twist with a duck camo printed canvas base layer, with tan suede and leather accents on top. Originally released in 2000, the Stussy collab with Nike on the Air Huarache “Desert Oak” made its return 21 years later. Releasing alongside the “Dark Olive” colourway, these dropped just ahead of Valentine’s Day, and I managed to take a W at the Stussy Toronto store. Worn famously by MJ during the first half of the 1991-1992 NBA season, these feature a bold deep red nubuck upper with white leather overlays. These look like they leapt straight from the TV screen with a cartoon-like appearance, incorporating bold colours and a variety of materials. One of the most anticipated shoes so far of 2021, the original “Neutral Grey” colourway of the Air Jordan 1 high finally returns tomorrow, February 10th. Last seen in 1985, these are crafted in the remastered “85” form, which Nike claims is a closer reproduction to the original Air Jordan 1 silhouette than its normal retro releases.
