Another month, another New Balance 1890 release. This time, the brand linked up with JJJJound to release two minimalistic takes on the new and popular lifestyle model. One of the best Asics shoes to release this year is the Lapstone & Hammer collab, nicknamed “The Spark”. This take on the Gel-Kayano 12.1 is both simple but premium, with genuine leathers, canvas and suede used, along with a simple colour palette with a bit of pop. Australian-based boutique, Up There, surprised the world with the sequel to their recently released “Natsukashii” Asics Gel-Kayano 12.1. Supreme recently launched five colourways of the Nike SB Dunk Low, with three being regional exclusives. While I missed on those, I did pick up the “White / Silver” colourway, which pairs smooth white leather with silver accents and embroidery. New York based streetwear label, Awake, dropped their newest Jordan Brand collab, this time releasing two colourways of the Air Jordan 5. I got my hands on the more accessible “Racer Blue” pair, which features a premium black leather upper and lots of special touches that make this a truly unique collaboration. One of the best non-OG colourways of the Air Jordan 12 has returned! The “French Blue” 12s first dropped in 2004, but this year’s retro marks the third time they’ve been given a public release. French fashion brand, A.P.C. joined up with Asics to drop a collection inspired by tennis. As part of Kith’s Winter ’24 line, they dropped a couple of Asics collaborations, including the Gel-Nimbus 10.1 that I’m reviewing today. This pair features white mesh, with silver synthetic leather and TPU overlays resulting in a dark, winteresque vibe. The upper of this shoe is also paired with the tooling of the Gel-Kayano 14, resulting in a familiar but still new fusion.
