Playstation Canada hooked me up with a pair of the recently released Adidas 4D in collaboration with Marvel, to celebrate the launch of the new Spider-Man 2 video game by Insomniac Studios and Sony. Featuring a red Primeknit upper, blue overlays and white stripes (as a nod to Spider-Man’s advanced suit), the 4D midsole represents the Venom symbiote taking over Peter’s costume. I recently picked up a pair of the New Balance 990 V6 “Sulphur” on sale, which had previously been sitting on store shelves for weeks. This Made in USA pair, part of Teddy Santis’ Season 3 collection, features a mix of pale yellow mesh and pig suede, along with bold green accents with the New Balance “N” logo and tongue. Featuring an iridescent and shimmery upper, these have a unique mix of materials that are utilized so well on this early 2010s running silhouette. Opting for tones of green, silver and a translucent mesh toe box, these are one of the more creative takes on this 2010-era running shoe that seen a surge in popularity in the past year. I finally picked up a pair of the Asics Gel-NYC! This new lifestyle silhouette which debuted earlier this year, has released in a variety of colours and today I’ll be reviewing the “Concrete / Oatmeal” pair. Inspired by past silhouettes from Asics’ archive, these feature a mix of mesh, suede, and synthetic panels, giving it a mid 2000s design flare. Check out my review to learn more!
My review of the ultra hyped SB Dunk collab between Born X Raised and Nike SB is here! Postponed due to the passing of BXR founder Chris “Spanto” Printup, these finally were sold to the public in late September. They feature a ton of unique detailing amidst an otherwise simple colourblocking of white leather and blue nubuck. Watch my review to learn more! Anyone else get luck and grab a pair for yourself?
Ronnie Fieg worked with Adidas Originals and Clarks to design and release the 8th Street Samba – a unique twist on this classic Adidas shoe. Sold out quickly, and then offered up again as a pre-order earlier this year, I finally got my hands on the pair I ordered – the “Summit White” colourway.
