To celebrate the opening of Kith’s Toronto location, they are releasing two Canadian-themed colourways of the New Balance 1700. Today I’m reviewing the “Rococco Red” colourway which was sold first in-store at Kith Toronto to coincide with their opening day. Supreme recently released another collaboration with Nike Skateboarding, featuring both a Dunk Low and High, inspired by the work of the late NY-based artist, Rammellzee. Featuring his artwork printed on canvas layers, the shoe is accented with bold, black suede throughout and a gum rubber outsole. Japanese label, WTAPS, is back with their third collaboration with New Balance, this time on the 990 V6 silhouette. Opting for a greyscale look, it’s built using a mix of mesh and suede in various tones of grey. Asics recently released this fresh general release colourway of their popular Gel-Kayano 14 model. Named “Simply Taupe / Oatmeal”, it has a more premium feel with a tonal mesh and suede upper, in various shades of cream and beige. Australia’s HAL Studios recently dropped their final of three colourways of the Asics GEL-1130. Inspired by the natural world, this minimalistic colourway draws inspiration from the landscapes of glaciers, with a mix of off-white mesh, suede, and brown leathers. Inspired by the Japanese book, A Dictionary of Colour Combinations, this Nike SB Dunk Low features a vintage, aged looking suede upper in orange tones. blue and teal, along with a yellowed midsole and outsole. Releasing alongside another colourway in a similar theming, these released recently in skateshops which is where I picked these up from. What do you think of this pair – cop or drop?
Size? and New Balance released an exclusive colourway of the 990 V3, just as the silhouette has been slowing down. This “Orange / Cream” colourway features beautiful, buttery suede, slick mesh, and reflective detailing throughout in a fall ready colour palette. Celebrating the X-Men’s 60th Anniversary, Kith teamed up with Marvel and Asics to release 7 different colourways of the Gel-Lyte III, each representing different iconic X-Men characters. The final pair I acquired via trade is inspired by one of the original X-Men characters and one of the smartest, Beast. Check out my video, and drop a comment on what you think of this pair!
