Releasing earlier this year, New Balance and A Bathing Ape teamed up to release the “Apes Together Strong” collection, which was headlined by two colourways of the 2002R model. The first pair, in a more classic BAPE ABC Camo look, and the other in a muted Grey Camo look, sold out instantly and has been on my radar since they released this past May. I picked up the classic grey or “Shark Skin” colourway, which has a tonal look but incorporates a mixed bag of materials including suede, leather and mesh, and a very unique functional whistle found on the heel.
