My latest New Balance pickup is a model that doesn’t normally get as much shine – the 1700. Dressed in the classic “Japan” colours of olive grey and blue, the 1700 is a model popular out East in Japan, and released late last year here in North America in the iconic colours first seen on the M1300JP.

Boston-based boutique, Concepts, teamed up with New Balance last month to drop a Kiwi-inspired 992. Paying homage to the “Kiwi Queen”, Frieda Rappaport Caplan, this 992 features a hairy suede upper, with neon green hits throughout resembling the look of the tropical fruit. Releasing earlier this year, New Balance and A Bathing Ape teamed up to release the “Apes Together Strong” collection, which was headlined by two colourways of the 2002R model.
