New Balance is dipping into their archives, going back to 1999 to bring back the 1000 silhouette. One of the first general release colourways is this one that I’m reviewing today in “Silver Metallic / Black”. A mesh upper is complimented with bold, silver synthetic leather layers, designed with a dynamic and fluid appearance. New Balance is set to release a handful of incredible colourway of their 993 model. First up, releasing on April 25th is this “Chive” colourway which I managed to pickup early – featuring a bright green upper comprised of genuine suede, mesh, reflective panels and more. As New Balance is ready to shelve the 991 V1 model, they ended things with one final pack, aptly called the “Finale Pack”. Consisting of two colourways, these Made in England pairs include the pair I’m reviewing today – the “Delicioso” colourway, which features a perforated nubuck upper, brown suede overlays and an Abzorb midsole. Kith recently released two pairs of the New Balance 1906R, in opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to their colour palettes. Today I’ll be reviewing the “White / Blue” colourway, which features a white mesh base, silver synthetic layers, and a blue heel cup. New Balance and JJJJound released their second interpretation of the 2002R silhouette, this time made for the winter weather with Gore-Tex! Two colourways released earlier this month, one in “Charcoal”, and the one I’ll be reviewing – the “Pine” colourway. This waterproof version of New Balance’s ever-popular silhouette features black mesh and plush dark green suede that looks good and also is functional!
Following a pre-order offered last July, Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance’s latest 860 V2 collaboration finally began landing in consumers’ hands in late January. This three-shoe pack included the pair I’m reviewing today, which is covered in a an off-white coloured mesh with cream synthetic overlays – resulting in a tonal, simple, but easy to wear shoe. A few weeks back, Salehe Bembury released his limited collaboration with New Balance called “Heat Be Hot”. This pack consisted of two pairs of 1906R, one called “Magma”, and the one I’m reviewing today, the “Lava” colourway.
