2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the iconic New Balance 1500. Originally released in 1989, it continues to be one of the brand’s most popular models, so its fitting that they released this special edition colourway for the moment! Instagram moodboard turned brand – Hidden NY, is releasing their collaboration with Asics on the Gel-NYC tomorrow, March 23rd. This pair draw inspiration from their online origins, with references to digital design tools like a pixelated Asics stripe on the side. New Balance recently launched the Brights Revival pack of the 991 V2 silhouette – dropping two vibrant, bold colourways of their newest Made in England model. The pair I’m reviewing today is the “Dazzling Blue” colourway, which is crafted in a bold blue hue in a mix of pig suede, mesh and synthetic layers. Bad Bunny and Adidas recently dropped a brand new colourway of the Response CL model, this time in a cream-based “Wonder White” makeup. This pair is crafted using genuine suedes along the upper, while still retaining that signature look of past models with Bad Bunny branding, and that “drip” effect along the midsole. As part of Aimé Leon Dore’s Spring / Summer ’24 collection, the brand quietly released this New Balance 990 V6 “Incense” to the surprise of many. This Made in USA pair features cream, brown, and beige tones, drawing comparison to the “Mindful Grey” (Cream) general release pair from 2023. Legendary pro skateboarder, Ishod Wair, just released his second signature sneaker with Nike SB, named the Air Max Ishod. Dropping in two colourways, today I’m reviewing the “Persian Violet / Obsidian” colourway (from a lifestyle wearer’s perspective), which fuses retro 90 design, Air Max influences, on a pro skateboarder’s silhouette. Last year, Ronnie Fieg worked with Adidas Originals and Clarks to design and release the 8th Street Samba – a unique twist on this classic Adidas shoe. To close out the year, they released two new colourways on Christmas Day, one in White / Black, and the other a Multicoloured pair. A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand close off 2023 with one final collab, this time a two-shoe Air Jordan 5 pack nicknamed “Dawn” and “Dusk”. Today I’ll be reviewing the “Dusk” pair, which is crafted using a black nubuck upper, with vintage detailing, and burgundy coloured accents. Just in time for Christmas, Adidas Originals released this Grinch edition of the Forum Low. Opting for a mix of cream coloured leather and shaggy green suede, we also have Christmas red accents throughout, for a festive, but stil wearable result.
