Late last month, Hoka released this limited edition version of their Tor Summit model in collaboration with Chicago-based fashion brand, Hidden Characters. This pair features a striking look with a black nubuck upper, trail lacing, and is contrasted against a white rubberized mudguard and midsole. For my newest video I’m reviewing the upcoming New Balance 1906R “Polka Dot Pack”, which includes these two pairs in my video – the “Sea Salt” and “Phantom” colourways. These are done in inverted fashion with a dotted pattern incorporated onto the mesh base. Meanwhile, genuine leather covers the upper in a surprise, premium twist. Instagram moodboard turned brand – Hidden NY, is releasing their collaboration with Asics on the Gel-NYC tomorrow, March 23rd. This pair draw inspiration from their online origins, with references to digital design tools like a pixelated Asics stripe on the side. After releasing the original “White / Red” version of the Air Max 1 last year in “Big Bubble” form, today, Nike dropped its counterpart – the “White / Royal Blue” pair! Built the same, it features white mesh, blue and grey synthetic suede layers, and an extra large Air Bubble in the heel as a nod to the original 1986 production that was quickly scrapped for its 1987 version! Did anyone else pick these up today?
Kith recently released two pairs of the New Balance 1906R, in opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to their colour palettes. For the first time since its original release in the mid 80s, the Air Jordan 1 Low returned in the “Metallic Navy” colourway. Built in the “85” cut to be as close to the OG run as possible, this pair features smooth white leather, with shiny navy blue hits, staying true to how it was meant to look. Following a pre-order offered last July, Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance’s latest 860 V2 collaboration finally began landing in consumers’ hands in late January. This three-shoe pack included the pair I’m reviewing today, which is covered in a an off-white coloured mesh with cream synthetic overlays – resulting in a tonal, simple, but easy to wear shoe. I recently picked up a pair of women’s Dunks, in a cool colour scheme utilizing shaggy suede on the upper. This “Photon Dust / Light Armory Blue” colourway has a simple look to it but has a bit of a worn-in and aged aesthetic to it due to the use of the suede.
